Update

So sorry if some of you are wondering why you haven't heard from us for a while. We moved from Missouri to California 3 weeks ago and we were without internet for much of that time. Our move was pretty crazy but we survived. We packed our van and car full of all that it could carry and drove across 7 states. We had some complications with the tarp over the van, a bit of snowy/windy weather, and one flat tire, but we made it all the way. Zora was such a sweet heart for having to sit in a car seat for 10 plus hours a day. When we arrived in California we were a little frazzled to hear that our apartment was only one bedroom, because the complex was out of two bedrooms. So we moved into the cramped space and then when a two bedroom opened up last weekend, we moved again. For that reason, it's been hard to update my blog, but we are finally pretty much settled now, so I can focus on more important things like Zora.

Zora's First Food

March 7, we attempted to give Zora her first solid food, liquidy rice cereal. Here's how it went:
BEFORE
AFTER

Busy, Busy, Busy!

PACKING UP !-The time has come for us to move again which is not our favorite thing to do. It doesn't get any easier, when your baby wants all your attention. John didn't have work on Thursday so he helped out a lot with Zora. He realized that Zora is more work than he thought. Here's some pictures to show how packing's going!

CIRCUS-To get a break from packing, we took Zora to the Circus (on March 5) which was in town for the week. Zora was sky high, but the loud noises kept scaring her. We saw some crazy acrobatics, tigers, amazing elephant stunts, clowns, and 7, yes that's right, 7 motorcyclists in the giant sphere of death. Here's some pictures of our adventures.

Zora's New Friends

March 1st, we took Zora to a friend's home to play with their animals. She enjoyed petting the horses and dogs as long as they didn't get too close. It's her first day since she's been born that she could actually go out and enjoy the sunshine.

Sleeping Beauty

We went through our pictures and chose our favorite pictures of Zora Sleeping. We found more than enough; I guess that's because, what do babies do best? SLEEP, of course!

ICE STORM

Missouri has definitely been a change of scenery for us, among other things. The weather is one of the strangest we've seen. One day there is snow on the ground and the next you're wearing shorts in 75 degree weather. Our winter has actually been rather mellow except for a few random storms. Out here we get a lot of warnings for flash floods, tornadoes, and ice storms. If you've never heard of an ice storm, let me try to explain. Instead of snow or rain falling from the sky, you get ice. Everything becomes frozen and it is incredibly and painfully cold outside. People have to stop their cars every so often while driving, just to scrape the new ice off their windshields to see out them because the wipers can't move. (And I thought snowstorms were bad!) To help you visualize it better, I included some snapshots.
